Ravens may tell Ngata to take a pay cut if he wants to stay

Haloti Ngata is 31 years old and due an $8.5 million base salary in 2015, and the combination of those two facts is leading to questions in Baltimore about whether Ngata will remain with the Ravens.

FACT. I wanted Ted to draft him instead of AJ Hawk.

Maybe we'll get him on a Julius Peppers type deal.

Intriguing. He is one of the best NTs out there. Not sure anyone will get him cheap

Yeah I know that's not what you meant, but a lot of good DL aren't always clean. I'm not saying Ngata is the right fit, but if you turn away all the dirty DL, then your DL might not be looking so good. It's tough and often times dirty in those trenches.

Haloti Ngata is on the wrong side of 30 is quite over rated. He is not worth the salary given to Julius Peppers.

I think Packers worry about signing all of their own priorities before considering anything in free agency.

With the standard statement. Depending on cost. I would take him. But I expect that to not be an option, something would likely get done with Baltimore to restructure the deal to make it more cap friendly.

Adding him to the Dline could make a huge improvement.

I also lobbied hard and vocally for Ngata instead of Hawk.

Now? Well, as others have said, if the price is right. I'm okay with bringing in older vets and their risks, and I'm okay at risking a bit of "overpayment," too.

Peppers provided quite a bit more than I expected (or needed to make him a worthy pickup IMO).

Personally, I think Ngata would be an upgrade over *both* Raji and Guion. (Of course, I think Willie Davis (at his current age) would be an upgrade over Raji.)
