Time for Cobb to show he is worth his money, I thought we overpaid for a slot receiver and should have let him walk. Now is his chance to show he is not only the slot receiver I thought him to be.

Leaving him in the slot puts a huge burden on Adams and someone else(Would love that to be Janis to his growth, but unfortunately it might be by default.), and if they leave Cobb there, he is not worth his money in my opinion.

I think Rodgers is going to find it difficult without Jordy for an extended period, and really miss his ability to twist and turn his body on sideline catches when Rodgers moves outside the pocket.

Cobb is not at all just a slot guy, i think I read he played 40% of his snaps outside. Just About every time you saw 2 WR or Addams in the slot; Cobb was outside.

GB usually pigeon-holes rookie WRs into one position so they master one instead of sucking at 4. I'm guessing Monty has been immersed at the Y [slot] since that is where he has been playing mostly. Janis typically lines up in the X, so that is the position they are trying to get him to master.

White has been playing mostly in Y, H and Z; but I’m sure he has all 4 positions mastered; he’s just a little slight to play X.

Addams and Cobb play the H, X, Y, and Z .

Note: I’m not sure how different the Y and H slots are in GB playbook.

Outside: w/ Addams and Cobb playing handling the X and Z; White the Z; Janis the X; I think Monty will stay in the slot until he has mastered it.

I expect us to start in next game Addams at X, Cobb - Z and White in Y. If Janis starts at X, Addams will go to Z and Cobb to Y and probably means they see Janis as able to play both X and Z and that would be GOOD NEWS.

This is a very interesting question because I really don't think Cobb nor Adams are pure outside WRs. In my humble opinion Montgomery is an outside WR and Janis too.

So my guess is that we'll see Montgomery & Adams or Montgomery & Cobb outside with the other guy playing the slot. Things get very interesting if Janis solves whatever his problems are and emerges as a valid option to play many offensive snaps. Then we could see Janis and Montgomery outside with Adams and Cobb inside.

This will present a very difficult problem for the opponents because if their two starting CBs cover Janis and Montgomery then Adams and Cobb will have a very productive day.

Myles White can play outside very well if he makes the team. I believe we are lucky to have so many options for such a terrible loss.

I was shocked when Monty was drafted, seemed to make no sense. And 100% agree Monty would be a great outside receiver; but the second thing I thought of after him being KOR was him playing like a fast and big ole TE with a large catch radius guarded by a whispy little slot corner in the RZ. RZ is why they're immersing him in the slot.

Now that he's been immersing in the slot, i dont think they'll change it up, until later in the year after he's mastered it.

Addams at X, Cobb Y and Monty at Z, for 1s in practice today. Wonder if this means Monty is breakin' in his second position in the 4th week of camp...Jennings was the only WR that I remember doing that and he was our #2 that year. Note: We lost to Bear 0-26 in week 1.

So maybe Monty is a genius or Janis and White not so much.

Abby was watching practice today, speculation was he's nearing end of protocol.

Janis scored 30 on the wonderlic.... 88 cent scored 24. Janis is definitely smart but may not be football savvy like Montgomery appears to be but then, again, we don't know that for sure.

Coaches don't say too much about Janis...MM said he was an olympian type guy in the weight room and that he was ready by late November last year...Van Pelt ripped him pretty good the other day which is pretty unusual from a position coach. It's weird too see a player ripped by a HC much less a positional coach.

Janis may be a heckuva lot further along as speculated here and elsewhere...only the guys at 1265 truly know.

http://www.espnwisconsin.com/common/page.php?feed=2&id=21281&is_corp=1

“If we’re in a three-receiver set, most likely I’ll be inside. If we’re in a two-receiver set, I’ll obviously be outside. It just depends on what we do,” Cobb said. “We’ll move around. We planned on moving around this year, so I don’t think our plan changes. It’s just finding that guy that’s going to be able to plug in and be able to fit into what we’re trying to accomplish.”

Here's another somewhat ominous quote from RC18 on who is going to help him besides Davante? Really scary that he doesn't know...gotta believe Aaron doesn't know and right on up to the top where Ted Thompson sits.

This one from Demovsky at espn.go.com:

"We're a couple of weeks out from the season opener now, and we need to know who we can count on," Cobb said. "Who are the guys that are going to step up and make those plays for us in those critical times during the season? We have to find that out. There's not a lot of time. Obviously, me and Davante are going to do everything we can. I think we have the ability between me and him to lead this group, and we're looking forward to the opportunity."

Man, are 3 WR sets going to be interesting, or what? Who is that guy opposite Adams? The rook? I know 88 cent is getting first crack. Janis? I can't imagine it being Abby, White or Pink. Pink and White would be quite the nickname if those two were higher on the pecking order.

Randall gets hurt and then what? Wow...can't even get my head around that one. Even if he misses a few series much less some real time that's going to be different. He did break his leg a few years ago but we had James Jones back then, and White Lightning, of course.
