So The Giants or Bengals are going to jump at the chance at trading their franchise receivers for Cobb and Adams?

You are right it isn't going to happen

So who is this "can't miss" WR who will be available at #28?

You better be sure this guy can jump Janis, Abby, Montgomery and Adams and immediately start as the #3 wr?

What happens when #28 rolls around and their is a better player , say a TE or a DL on your board also available?
Do you forego taking that player because you have made up your mind that The Packers MUST have a 7th receiver?

For some uknown reason you could trade Cobb away, who fills his position as a rb?
There was a whole package of plays that went out the window when Cobb went down in Arizona.

I've read a lot about how The Packers don't have that change of pace 3rd rb.
They actually do, just so happens he wears a wr # on the back of his jersey.
Too many what ifs.

I've read where this upcoming draft is loaded with wr's who project to be very good.

Pretty sure Ted will grab one, hell it might be in the 1st round if a guy falls and is head over heels the BPA left on the board.

To say The Packers MUST grab a wr at #28 isn't a good decision imho.

Perhaps Cobb/Adams don't have much trade value, but then other GM's have made great trades with much less to offer. I'm sick of TT's play it safe way of doing things.

GB simply must in some way acquire a quality WR for the 2016 Season.

Keep building this defense. Draft the best defensive player available.

I am not as worried as others are about the offense. If we go offense in the first round I hope its an OT.

There is no guarantee the Jordy you remember is the one coming back for 2016. Look how much things changed for several of our players this season and they didn't tear their ACL or are going to turn 31. Jordy may be a shell of himself.

I would definitely hedge my bets on Jordy not being back 100% and effective like he was and that requires a high pick on a receiving option whether TE or WR. Ted Thompson does roll the dice all the time just in the opposite ways most GM's do. Ted Thompson will let it ride at many positions very often to the detriment of our franchise. It's nice he believes in what he's doing but he's wrong an awful lot. Time to stop shopping at the dollar store and go to some higher end establishments to get some better goods. Heck, he doesn't even go shopping all that much but let's go for once and get some higher end proven items.

Calvin Johnson told the Lions he's going to retire. How old would he be this season? Same age as Jordy and he's not coming off a shredded knee. Don't bank on Nelson being Nelson, TT.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Why do I keep reading about people wanting to trade Cobb? He is a dangerous weapon when used properly, he's just no #1 receiver. But then again, we haven't had one of those since Javon Walker. When you are picking 28th, you are basically in best player available mode unless you have the nads to move up in the draft.

Green Bay should be willing to trade quantity of picks to improve quality. There was a time when the trade down to acquire more picks was the way to go, but not anymore. We have a solid roster, just need to add a few quality starters instead of this on the job training program we've been using. Shore up ILB and TE before the draft and then go after players you feel will be difference makers in the draft.

There is no doubt Javon Walker had more ability than Jordy Nelson...but I'm certainly not saying he was the better WR.

Javon had special special athleticism. Jordy has some nice attributes but not the arsenal Javon had.

You mentioned TE in a previous report and I do agree that speed at TE needs to be addressed. What happened this year was a Perfect Storm and if you remember the movie two huge storms came together to form one monster.
When the Packers lost Finley they lost the threat down the middle. Rogers is a decent player but he has no speed. When they lost Jordy they lost both Arod's go to player but also a player DB's had to respect going long. Again, JJ is a decent player but he caused no concern stretching the field. Thus, the DB's just ignored the field behind them unafraid of getting burned.

I think with Ty and Jordy back they can hold on their own and would only be that much better if there was a pass catching threat at TE. Not against another good WR at all. Like CB they can't have enough of those but if it's a choice between the two give me a TE that can run.

Opinions are what this thread is all about. IMO, the Packers should get a High quality WR , weather through the draft or by Trading for one.

TE, OT, LB are other positions I read that the Packers should pursue. The off-season heals many injuries, let us all wish for good health and luck for the 2016 Packers.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔

Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
