More on Barnett's status

Green Bay -- We all know the guy can Tweet (LOL). And he said he'll address this on his new website (www.barnett56.com/) later tonight, but in the meantime I caught up with Nick Barnett earlier to ask him about flunking his physical and being played on the physically unable to perform list for the time being.

Here's what Barnett said:

Why did they flunk you?

Honestly you have to talk to (general manager) Ted (Thompson) about that. I'm sure it's probably because there's no need to rush me out there. Might be the old benefits versus risk deal.

Was a target date set to get you on the field?

No target date set.

Are you upset by this?

Am I upset? Well not really. I would really like to be on the field but I trust they will make the right decision at the right time. But, hell yeah, I want to be on that field and feel like I can be. But it's very important to be smart about these things.

Nick has always been one that wanted to be on the field. Playing it safe right now is the thing to do. Maker sure he is ready for the late season run for the North title.

if he's healthy, he should be practicing. we have a new coach, new shceme, barnett should be on the field from day 1! IMHO.

it seems as if he's not healthy enough to practice. if he were healthy, i'm sure he'd be practicing.
