Why would you cut Kuhn he is leading the team in TDs!

Yeah, they run that quick hitter to the FB on short yardage. Man, Wynn would smash through on those plays. Remember that play against the Queens where Kuhn got stopped short? We didn't score on that drive and ended up losing by that same amount.
Wynn breaks Greenway's arm on that play and scores.

I wish we had kept Sutton too so we could have started the season with Grant and Sutton with 3 FB's. That would not have got the ire of fans, not at all. I am down with cutting Wynn and promoting Lumpkin. I've had it with Wynn. At least this week. Maybe next week I'll want him to have 20 carries? lol (waffle!)

Cut Kuhn. Move Wynn to FB.

"millertime" wrote:

Just because he's a bigger back doesn't mean he'd be a good FB.

Why would we cut Kuhn when he's our most valuable FB on offense and the most consistent???

You've lost me, here...

Wynn has more power, speed, explosiveness, is able to pick up the blitz. All of the above.

Can't do any of that when he's on the sidelines half the time when the FB isn't needed or injured the other half of the time.

Are we still talking about grant here? ... since when was he a good runner ... oh ya back in 07

MM playcalling up the middle blows also ... what the heck is that all about. If I See another 15 plays up the middle for little to no gain I'm going be even more annoyed then I already am ...

I mean if our line sucks for 2 years in a row ... maybe its our oline coach huh? and this damned zone blocking.

Its not like we have lacked in drafting Oline guys ... someone did a analysis previously and said we draft Olinemen quite frequently. I mean heck we had 2 good guys this year.

Grant was an awesome RB in 07. Since he got his new contract, he has been average. I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

lol the contract... right.

OL sucks more much? Yes!
Also, I wonder if he's more of a ZBS runner? If I remember right, we're drifting away from ZBS more and more, right? And the more we seem to drift from it, the worse Grant does?? Hmm ... I bet that hamstring injury has nothing to do with how he played last season either. It was because his wallet got fatter, that's the ticket! Sorry, that stuff bothers me.

I think it's a combination of ... he was fresh, hadn't played all that much ... a more ZBS themed scheme ... not coming off an injury ... better OL play ... I think those are factors FAR more than a damn contract that pays on incentives. Grant needs to produce to get the big bucks. At least, from what I remember of his contract. I could be wrong though. I mean, heck, he got his contract, why not suddenly lose your explosion and ability to break tackles cuz you signed your name on a piece of paper? Afterall, that theory worked for Antonio Freeman. Bastard! (still not happy with him)

With that said, I know it happens, but give me a break, Grant didn't cash in like most people who tank after wards. His contract does have incentive clauses in it based on his performance.

Everybody watch some AD highlights. Notice where his offensive line usually ends up. 3-5 yards in the defensive backfield, instead of the defense being 2 yards deep in ours. Grant has to work half the time just to make it back to the LOS. If you add those 2 yards to a shift of 5-7 yards a run because of good blocking, imagine the yards Grant would have?

anyhow, i think we need more carries to our RB, whomever it may be, to get the running game going better.

If only you took this point of view with the Packers front office. ;)

I was actually quite happy with what we did last week. I don't know why people are obsessed about establishing the running game when it's not working.

I know, I know, less blitzing, tiring the defense, etc. Fact is, though, that we come out running it on our first driver often enough and we just fail horribly, meaning that we trail by the 1st quarter and are forced to pass even more. Or stay with a struggling running game.

We're a WC offense, short passes should be able to pick up some of the slack from our running game. Just throw some more slants, drags, quick screens and stick routes.

Much like last week, really.

Let the passing game set up the passing game. And maybe the running game, when they do back off.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
