I think it is funny Henderson says he will boo. I have always considered William one of the classiest men to play the game.
I won't boo b/c I won't be there and it won't matter.
I wish the fans would ignore him and do nothing. That would rattle him more than booing would. If the whole stadium booed him that would be like taking a hit from Warren Sapp. Brett would just jump up and laugh about it. It would make him want to play better.

I think also that Favre concocted the whole retirement/jets/retirement so that he can be a Viking thing so I don't think too highly of him but enciting a mass booing is not in good taste.

"longtimefan" wrote:

So your thinking Brett lied to get his way and that doesnt deserve a boo?

But what he did was in good taste?

your very forgiving!

"obi1" wrote:

Forgiving? I don't know, I thought it was God's perrogative to forgive. NOT mine. I won't even touch that. Favre is a Viking now. I, like you, are dealing with that. Do I like it? no. Am I glad he is still playing football? no.

How ever, I like it even less that we have a lynch mob attitude toward him when we should be enjoying the game!

Lynch mob? Come on...its a rival player that fans boo

"obi1" wrote:

Ok may be a Lynch mob is a bit strong but, I think you missunderstand my point. I am all for booing the other team. I am not for SINGLING OUT and ENCITING a booing.

People are making a HUGE deal out of booing. It's not throwing batteries, or hunting him down in the parking lot and screaming "#*&$ you!!" It's booing. It has happened at every single Vikings or Bears game I have ever been to, and it will happen at this one.

Agreed.

I have nothing against booing. You know I'm a Favre fan (but a bigger Packers fan), but if Packers fans want to boo Favre, that's their prerogative.

Now, having a kid swear is one thing in itself, but to swear at a guy just for replacing a legend? That's ridiculous. Rodgers had no choice in being picked by the Packers. Honestly, he thought he would have been picked top 5 in that draft and we all know how his face looked when he kept getting passed up in the draft.

Of course it worked out for the best, but that's not the point. My point is Rodgers didn't plan to replace Favre. That's just how it happened. If you want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at either TT, MM, Bus Cook, or Favre himself. Not Rodgers.

this is FOOTBALL not ballet, dude. wtf? what's with the sensitive emo approach to the situation?

"TwinkieGorilla" wrote:

This.

It's not golf - fans are loud - they boo - they scream horrible things - this is how it works - 12th man.

Now, if someone goes so far as to send their small children to scream obscenities at him, that's classless... and what FoF did to Rodgers, of course.

Boos are fine - he expects them, and in all fairness he's earned them. All but his self-appointed fluffers have conceded this. That's not classless, it's football.

On Wednesday, Longwell said his friend is in a good place and thinks the importance of the game from a standings standpoint will help take the edge of Favres personal storyline. Asked whether he thinks Favre will be booed, Longwell said, I think he will. I think he should, when the game starts, because were the opposing team. If theyre cheering, I think their fans are misplaced.

I never said not to boo if you wish but enciting a mass booing because of personal agenda because he was brett Favre and Packer fan property, etc, etc, in MY opinion is misplaced booing and low class.

Would we encite a mass booing for Tarvaris Jackson? I don't think so.

That's a great idea!! I say yes. Boo the heck out of him BECAUSE HE'S A VIKING! Make them feel un-welcomed. Let all opposing teams know that Lambeau field is a reasonably hostile place (in terms of the 12th man only) and try to get in their head.

So yeah, I would be down for enticing some booing for Tarvaris Jackson, or any other Viking. I'm not a big booer myself, but if something as simple as booing can get inside an opponents head a little, then sure.

OK Guys Boo all you want I will be with you but if you encite other people to boo at someone because of your own hatred of that person, that is like a lynch mob.

I am NOT diagreeing with the booing, just the POLITICAL motivation of the people who illicit other people to boo to serve their own cause.

beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔

Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
