List of current Pro Bowlers, by fan vote.

And you thought Rodgers and Brett couldn't play defense.

Didn't expect Nick Barnett to show up on the list. I think he deserves it, but he's had better seasons, in which he didn't get voted in.

Didn't expect Matthews on there just yet, either.

Would've liked to see Driver get the nod, but he's a borderline pro bowler this season.

I like the nr. 2 QB, btw.

A shame that we don't have any D-line guys on there, but I guess that that's how it goes when you play a 3-4. Jenkins would've been in if we where playing the 4-3.

This is not an official list. It will be Brees, Favre and then a race between Warner, Romo and Rodgers. Romo is like the most popular player in the game, Warner is well respected and Rodgers is a newbie(or at least more of a newbie than the others). If I were a betting man, which I am, I would say Rodgers doesn't make it this year even though he deserves to make it.

Official or not, fan voting is only 33% of the equation.

I'm not sure if it works the same with coaching/staff and players, but popular players and those in vogue seem to get a lot of the fan votes even if they're not playing particularly well.

I disagree. Romo's failings in December will haunt his Pro Bowl chances. Rodgers is currently a top 5 QB, the other two in the top 5 in the NFC are Favre and Brees. Warner missed two games this season so I think that all but wraps up his chances. In a perfect world Rodgers would be a shoe-in for the Pro Bowl. I agree with you that it will be closer than it should but barring a terrible meltdown from Rodgers I think he should get in.

Rodgers is going to the Pro Bowl. No way he gets the shaft (didn't Brees get the shaft last year?).

Rodgers has been getting the shaft from everybody from day 1, and I blame the press. Those east coast cock suckers wouldn't know talent if it rode up the Henry Hudson and crapped on their desks. If Rodgers would play for the Jets or Giants, he'd be bigger than Brady.

Rodgers will never get his due respect until he hoists the Lombardi on a Sunday in February. Then we can forget about what's his name, I think it's French.

Well, at least Michael Silver loves Aaron. There are a few local writers that are high on him as well and seriously wish the Niners picked Aaron over Smith.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
