"Looks like they did pretty well with Jones playing LB and Williams stepping up to CB and others filling in behind them."

C'mon give Jarret Bush his props to!!!!! He was the guy that stepped up at nickel.

I include Bush in the "other guys" but since they used 5 LB or 6 DB at times I did not specifically mention him. It was the entire defense that stepped up.

Ah, it's not just me then. That red was coming off the screen and looked like I was wearing 3D glasses.

I think it wasn't necessarily one guy stepping up but timing, execution, and communication. It took half the season to "get it." Besides the Steelers game, during our "hot streak," nobody got more than 14 points against us. Oh, I take that back, the Niners did but if I remember correctly, most of those points were garbage time points.

My biggest worry though is blitz timing. It seemed we got it down in the 2nd half of the season. If we can maintain it, I think we can beat anyone.

My biggest worry is I think the Packers have a great shot at going to the NFC championship game against the Vikes. That means taking out 2 very powerful offenses in the Cards and Saints. So with me this confident be afraid very afraid because i haven't been like this all year. And i am finally giving Rodgers his props, Shit, hell must be freezing over ( feels like it here with 15 below wind chill). Our run will end to the old geezer and he will win the super bowl and finally get out forever, and we can control the North for the next few years.

They had their big day yesterday.
Bring em on!

Lol. Man, you're one crazy mofo if you think the Packers have any possible tiny little hope of beating Favre in an NFC championship game. Come on, close your eyes and picture it happening in your head.

See, told you, no chance. If it happens, the old man will have a career day.

I said earlier in the year that the packers defense was in trouble and needed 2 or 3 personnel changes and time together to gain some chemistry. I was wrong about that. The defense has played lights out most of the year. They have played like crap 5 times this year and played awesome most of the rest of the year although against crappy teams in quite a few of those games. I think the jury is definitely still out on this defense but we will see what they're all about in the playoffs.

But long term, I think this defense will be really good and consistent. I AM a packer fan and I'm excited to see if this off season we can get either 1 dominant or 2 decent o-lineman and get a couple of role players/specialists on defense. I think we're looking at another great 8 - 10 years in GB.

Sorry about the red, I knew what everyone was saying, just funnin' a little, IMHO when CM3 made it into the starting lineup and Jones coming in, along with Raji playing made the most difference in the improvements.

These guys were not comfortable or even playing the 2 games against Minny, that is why I am hoping The Packe get 1 more shot at The Purple mess.....things will be different, including the outcome.

Any team has a chance of beating any other team. I can, with absolute confidence, say that you are wrong to say that there's no chance that the Packers could beat the Vikings in a playoff game this season.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
