I said it in the chat after the game. The worst thing to happen to the Packers defense this year was the success of the offense. I really feel like the defensive problems were not fully addressed partly because of the "team" success (15-1). The Packers sitting at 9-3 do something about the "problems."

This is a pretty good point. I'll readily admit how wrong I was about this team. I thought the O was strong enough to cover up the D's problems but I was wrong. I think so was the rest of the team, including the coaching staff.

Simply put, it's denial.

Let's not forget the 2009 draft when 🇹🇹 grabbed 2 first rounders, with the expectations that both would be studs. One of them will be a perennial Pro Bowler (CM3) and the other is pretty good (but unfortunately overrated).

You CAN get guys with immediate impact from drafts. Plus, let's not rule out 🇹🇹 making a trade.

So the question I have for you is purely hypothetical. Let's say YOU are Ted, and another team wants Finley. They offer a studly defender for Finley. Do you pull the trigger?

As for the one who talked about Mario Williams providing pressure on the inside--before his injury in Houston, Phillips plugged him in as the OLB opposite Brooks Reed, and it was working.

Raji overrated?

The only reason Raji couldn't be as impact as he was last year is because Jenkins is not there no more. Jenkins was a wrecking force, match that up with Raji and Pickett and ... we saw what happened ... Now that Jenkins is gone, just double team the Raji or Pickett and there's no pressure for the opposing QB ...

Make what ever excuses you want for him but Raji was not very good this year. He doesn't get double teamed on every play and he wasn't winning his 1 on 1 match ups anyways. He wasn't getting much for pressure all year and wasn't strong against the run either. Raji didn't fail any less than Neal did.

I like the guy, but I also try to see the truth. He didn't have Pro Bowl numbers. In fact, he was better last year than he was this year.

As much as people want to say Raji was bad. You can NOT expect to make it by in this league as a defense with ONE man on the D line that has ability to deliver pass rush. And 2 in the front 5 with that ability. I would say overall we have 3 members of our front 7 that have ability to generate a pass rush either inside outside or on a blitz. Raji, Clay and Bish... and hey since Raji was taken out of the game due to matchup issues and Clay taken down to about 50% of what he was last year it's hard to say we even had 3.

That is a BAD BAD DEFENSE. The personnel is not there. Capers needs good players to use, what I think is a good defensive scheme.

I don't think anyone here is saying Raji is bad. I said he's Very Good, but NOT Pro Bowl worthy. Thus, overrated.

You can be a good player and overrated. For example, Big Ben is a damn good QB. I'd even put him at Elite some of his years. Now, there are people saying he's Hall of Fame material. Those people overrate him.

As Stevetarded pointed out, he didn't win many one-on-ones. It would be one thing if he was being doubled or tripled every play. But as the season progressed, he was usually one-on-one except when the team only rushed three. Clay took two blockers. Pickett usually took two. But Raji? Much more often it was one-on-one.

That doesn't make him "bad." He hasn't been in the league long enough to call him "bad". But he definitely had a bad year.
