Talk about intimidating......yesterday I went to Spokane WA to pick up our son who had visited his sister in New Mexico. They went to Dallas to watch a Stars vs. Penguins hockey game on Sunday.

I went into the Spokane airport and right away noticed several very tall guys lined up at the Northwest Airlines check in..........and one guy was really tall. I mean at least a head above the rest, who were a head above me. Seems there was a AAU tournament in Salt Lake City this past week and these guys were heading for the Twin Cities. Anyway, being me, I went up to several of them and asked, "how tall is Curly there?" (real curly, blond hair) He turned and said "I'm officially 7' 4 3/4 inches, but that depends on the shoes I'm wearing."

I stood next to him and I came up to about his chest....I'm 5'8". I was going to ask him how he fit into the plane cabin, but thought better. His teammates looked like they had just graduated from Maximum Security State U. and I wasn't about to mess with them.

By the time my son came in there were several teams that got off planes or were boarding planes and I suddenly realized that SIZE DOES MATTER!
Man, these guys must take an hour to zip up their flys. :xcensoredx:

Glad I don't have that problem. :thumbright:

That reminds me of when I was a little kid and saw The Spy Who Loved Me when it first came on HBO. Now, keep in mind we weren't allowed to watch R-rated or violent movies, so James Bond was as scary as it got.

Anyways, there was that character Jaws who no matter what you did, you couldn't stop him. He was really scary. James Bond even shot him but it hit him in the mouth and the bullet bounced of his teeth and he kept coming.

I got so scared I hid behind the couch every time Jaws came on screen.

But then I learned James Bond didn't know the correct way to stop Jaws - he should have kicked him in the ding ding. That's what Clint Eastwood did and it worked.

LOL. My big Bro is 6'8". I'm 6'2"

I've never stood beside someone as tall as that. But I've seen the big guys in the NBA at Key Arena here in Seattle.

go.pack.go.......the younger generations, like you, are growing bigger and taller, and without steroids etc. We are the only things on earth that can generate new technology to grow and get stronger. When I was your age, in 1957, I was the height I am now and I was one of the biggest guys on our basketball team. (eighth grade) This past year when I retired from teaching PE, I had several 5th grade girls who were taller than me, and one who was pushing 6 feet. Both her Mom and Dad are well over 6 feet.

Good luck to you. If you stop at 6 feet, learn to shoot 3 pointers. If you keep going, get that drive to the basket down pat.

I just turned 18 and am 6'0, so I guess I won't get much bigger than this.

I do have some 'freak' nephews though. They're brothers and one of them is 18 years old, 6'2, 300 LBs and has enormous feet, size 52 over here, I can't actually find a conversion chart that goes that far.

My other nephew, I think he really could've made a name for himself if he was born in America. He's 16, still growing, but 6'1 already, 320 LBs, size 50 feet aswell, a sick amount of strength and on short sprints, has the same speed as me. (I'm skinny and fragile, but have some good speed and big legs because of playing soccer). He really could've gotten somewhere over there, I think.

Don't know why I'm adding this, just started typing, really. Their feet size reminded me of your story.

Well I'm one of the younger people in my grade, because I'm in 9th (freshman year).

And there's a kid in my grade that's like 6'3" and he's a few months older than I am. (BTW, I'm 210lbs.)

Milk. It's cheap, and the protein is fantastic.

My son is only 14 and he's 6' tall with size 14 shoes. He's just begun to grow. Eats like a pigeon, but goes through a gallon of milk A DAY.

Don't worry, we buy bovine growth hormone free milk. He'd have man boobs if we didn't.

dfosterf (6h) : Just gotta figure out how.
dfosterf (6h) : Could have been a worse start, so there is that.
beast (6h) : Yeah, someone tell the Packers football season has started, seems like they weren't ready for it
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Sooooooo many penalties
Mucky Tundra (7h) : It may only be preseason, but this game is a trip to the dentist
Zero2Cool (7h) : Packers do bad -- FREAK OUT!!!!!!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Packers do good -- eh only preseason

Mucky Tundra (13h) : THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE PLAYING FOOTBALL TONIGHT!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!
Zero2Cool (14h) : Woo-hoo
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : NFL Network is broadcasting the game tonight, but not in Canada. Not sure why as no local television is showing the game.
beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league
dfosterf (7-Aug) : out on a field trip, outfitting them with little yellow smocks. Most of the little folk were well behaved, but several were like trying
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Yesterday my wife and I spent the afternoon on the waterfront here in Alexandria, Va. A daycare company took about 15 three/four year olds
wpr (7-Aug) : seems faster. yay
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Wife of reason posted on the in/out thread on fleaflicker that both she and vor are in
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : This page was generated in 0.135 seconds.
Mucky Tundra (7-Aug) : Tbh, I can never tell the difference in speed unless it's completely shitting the bed
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Sure does feel like site is more snappy
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
