Is he really in the top 10? I would challenge that openly.. here is just a few names that pop that could arguably be placed ahead of Jennings at this point.. you can argue point on one or two of them.. but staking a claim to a top 10 receiver openly isn't a slam dunk.

Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
Randy Moss, Patriots
Andre Johnson, Texans
Reggie Wayne, Colts
Calvin Johnson, Lions
Anquan Boldin, Cardinals
Steve Smith, Panthers
Lee Evans, Bills
Roddy White, Falcons
Terrell Owens, Bills
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Seahawks

Would I take all of them over Jennings.. probably not.. actually most I would rather have Jennings complete package (on and off the field) than some of the others.. but that doesn't change the fact that as a pure football player his numbers don't stand out.

My point is Packer nation seems to worship the ground upon which Jennings feet lay... he is a talented receiver without a doubt.. but he isn't a HOF candidate in the making at this moment.. but he has plenty of years ahead of him to change that..

See.. more from the I Love Greg Jennings thread.. lol...

People are going to think I don't like him or don't respect what he brings to the table as a player.. that is not the case.. just I happen to think we idolize him as infallible too heavily is all...

I will quibble with the two you listed that I put in bold. I don't see that Evans has out-performed Jennings, and unless I'm allowed to go into the past to get a younger TJH, there's no way he's a superior receiver at this point.

The others are acceptable. We Packers fans do love our Jennings, but I don't think the adulation is as blind as you make it out to be. He's not THE best receiver currently, but he's damn good and only getting better.

We had something like that already PackZ and i took hell for it but c'mon now posters here with over hyping a Packer player would never happen on here. I mean we have Jennings that is God and way it sounds Rodgers is Moses.

We have good players but i wouldn't say great players as in best of the league type.

You forgot one wr i think every team would love to have and thats Hines Ward he is a beast if you need him to go long he will, if you need him across the middle no problem and if you ask him to block he will break their fricken jaw lol. Oh and forgot to mention he can play qb also :p

i gave you a +1 PackZ because you list was just like mine and people will listen to you and i would have been tarred and feathered already.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Just you wait until Ironman Dave reads this thread. You guys are in BIG trouble. He has already told me that Greg can part the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and points east.

He is TELLIN'... Greg, I mean.

Lock them doors!

Greg is going to part Lake Michigan, come burrowing across the state like an F-5 tornado on 'roids, tell Rib mountain to get the hell out of his way and start with Pack93z. I don't wanna be there for that one...

Well, at least that's what Ironman would say.

I don't think Jennings is overrated at all. He is one of the best route runners I have seen at the WR position in quite some time. I suppose that's why he does so well even though he is only 5-11. I am sure other people noticed this but he always seems like he is wide open a few times a game just standing there all by himself.

Interesting stat Greg has 1 less TD in the last 2 years than Larry Fitzgerald and has played in 2 less games.

I agree and disagree.

On one side, he is overhyped like crazy. His great character combined with his amazing skills on the football field make him a lovable player.

On the other side, he's easily in that top 10 on my list. Lee Evans and Dwayne Bow are borderline great imo. A bit better than Berrian and not as good as the elite receivers. TJ Housh is one of the most overrated players in the game today.

Roddy White and Calvin Johnso nare all maybe slightly better, but he's pretty close to them. The rest on that list might be (slightly) out of range at this point. I think that Jennings is going in the rigth direction, but that he's not up there with the likes of Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald for instance.

Good post though, btw.
