Great analysis, Rock.

Kregg Lumpkin may possess a world of talent, but he's severely injury prone and always has been. Has he ever played a complete season at any level? I know a lot of members here are enamored of Lumpkin, but I say it's time the Packers stop stockpiling injury-prone talent and start accumulating guys who may not be as flashy but exhibit signficantly more durability.

Lumpkin would make a good practice squad candidate as would Sutton but he'd likely get picked up.

Sutton looked great tonight. Showed really good vision and no hesitation either.

I wonder if the Packers would consider keeping four backs this year as opposed to the usual three. If they're ever going to do it, now is the time.

I'd def keep Sutton around after tonight. He looked really good. I hope he makes 3rd string! Can't wait to see him in action again.

I'd like to see 4 rbs as well, but I think we may use up a lot of spots on the DL and esp. LBs which will (ultimately) limit how many rbs we keep.

Looking at Wynn, Lumpkin, and Sutton. It's pretty much going to come down to who can stay the healthiest as far as who will make the roster behind Grant and Jackson. Sutton got a lot of work, but it was pretty much against the scrubs in the 4th quarter. It's going to be interesting to see who ultimately makes the team at RB, but there's still a lot of football left to play and things can change.

My point exactly. Wynn's great but he's never stayed healthy. I'd rather keep someone like Sutton behind Grant and Jackson who could add a Darren Sproles like explosiveness.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I would let Sutton play against the 2nd stringers next week, see what he can do against them, and most likely have the battle for a roster spot between Wynn and Lumpkin.

Sutton is, in my eyes, the only real agile and fast back on the roster (although you could make a point for Brandon Jacobs), a perfect compliment to Grant's running.

I think we might have a real steal on our hands here. One of those guys that 'too short to playing in the NFL', but eventually shows that his skills just outweigh his height problems. Maybe not as a full time starter, but I'm thinking Darren Sproles here.

My vote would be to drop Brohm before we drop Sutton.

I loved the way that Sutton ran the ball last night. The little guy was reminding me of Darren Sproles the whole time I watched him, but more. It seemed as though he was running with a lot of power.

I saw him make contact with a defensive lineman after about a 6 yard gain and he fell forwards, almost breaking the tackle.

In fact, McCarthy talked about him.

A very instinctive football player. He's shown it college, he's shown it in practice and he went out and did it again under the lights tonight. He's very sharp with his reads. He's got a very good feel, especially in the zone schemes. I like the way he ran the ball, I like the way he bounced it outside and generated positive yardage when it didn't look like there was anything there. He's a very instinctive football player and he's doing a heck of a job.

When asked about what Sutton showed him wrote:
