Rock - A little secret to investing: buy low, sell high. Maybe it's a mistake to buy ING now, especially if it goes under. But I'm willing to bet your government will do everything in its power to not let it go under.

I wish I bought at 7. If I did, I would have double my money already. I'm about even right now and going to hold it until this recession is over. We'll see.

Still no reply.

I did go to the new Giant yesterday. The big "Grand Opening". I can't find shit in that new store, the dog biscuits were jacked-up .20 a box, (just as I feared) they got chefs and shit all over the place (like I'm not paying for that).

All-in-all, I hate it. I have a new traffic light to have to get through, having spent the last month while they did all the "proffers" public-street-wise, etc.

We are getting a "Sonic", though, which is the ONE thing I was looking forward to...naturally it is not built yet. We are also getting those shopping carts that you can scan as you go. Right now all they got is little plastic flag-holder thingys that will support the scanny thing. At least the carts don't wobble, and we also have a gas station, which is all I really care about, because I don't have to travel anymore to get my .30 a gallon gasoline.

They got me by the balls with that gas thing, plus they have the nicest stores...

bastards.

Aah, you just bought them. That's a wise decision, indeed, if you have some money to spare.

Thought you might've hung onto them, hoping for a recovery. I asume there will be one eventually, but it'd be down bigtime by now, I asume.

Rock - Yeah, it's one of those things; you have to realize it's a gamble. I wouldn't advice anyone who's not a risk taker to invest in them right now. Also, you shouldn't put any money for your retirement in them.

Now setting aside a portion of your investing for gambles is completely different. For example, I bought a lot of Ford at $1.77, not trusting their balance sheets (as we just saw GM's was full of s***), but knowing that of the Big 3, only Ford declined the government's money and had the cash reserves to weather this recession. It's now over $7.

I think I was too slow with ING though. When it dropped down to $7, that's when I should have bought. Now it's going to take a long time for me to make a profit. But, you snooze, you lose.

Good. You deserve it. I hope that Ahold will take all your money. Just like McDonalds, Burger King and Kentucky do over here.

Random sunday : I'm watching the game, I get some McDonalds commercial. $3,- or something for an entire CBO menu. I turn my head to the right, towards my TV. I watch a McDonalds commercial on that one. Entire CBO Menu, 5,50-.

That's 3,50 I'm spending extra (0,66$ = 1,-). Same goes for those other fast food restaurants.

If you don't like it, shop at Wallmart.

Rock,

I'd be more pissed off about 5 for a pint. That's not even American companies fucking you over, it's bloody Heineken (or to be fair any beer). Over spring break a bunch of my buddies each blew well over $600 or $700 in a week, largely on booze.

You mean at a bar or something? Where'd you go for spring break? Because Heineken is a Dutch brand. It's 'normal' here. It's actually one of the cheaper ones. Or was this actually in the Netherlands? I don't even spent that much on my 'Cola Beerenburg '.

But yeah, l agree. Prices on alcoholic drinks are crazy. I don't mind it that much, though. Alcohol abuse can totally destroy people and tear families apart. Moreso than cannabis, for instance.

How's this for going off-topic, though?

I guess that they pretty much have you by the balls, Foster. Lol.

I was in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, so yeah the point about Heineken was that it was the local, cheap beer. I was referring to the bars too, if I bought booze at the grocery stores or liquor stores the pricing wasn't bad. Now the cannabis, those prices weren't bad. Especially for how damn good it was over there.

Isn't Target a sub-thingy of Walmart? Or am I way off track here?

I don't care whether you shop at Walmart, Target, Aldi or whatever. I'm just happy that we're getting some vindication. Screwing you back over there.

"zombieslayer" wrote:

No, Target actually has decent stuff. They're completely separate companies. Target's Up & Up brand too is mostly made in America. Most of the crap at Wal-Mart is made in China.

Plus fashion-wise, you'll see hot babes wearing Target clothes. You very rarely see babes wearing Wal-Mart clothes.

Speaking of screwing us, got kind of worried there. I'm a shareholder in your ING and it was taken off the board the other day. Found out later, it was just a glitch. Yikes!

"Rockmolder" wrote:

I don't know about all that ING stuff.. But everything you said about Target is why I'm a big fan of it. I pay a LITTLE bit more for some of the 'same' stuff as I would at Wally's World.. But at least I know some of the money's going back to the state.

Not to mention every Wal-Mart up here is extremely redneck/ghetto. If you ever been to a Wal-Mart up here late at night.. It's like the place is filled with zombies/vampires. It's creepy. I kid you not. At least the Targets up here take pride in keeping their store clean.

Formo - Same here. Target actually has babes. Wal-Mart is full of meth freaks.

And yes, it matters to me that Target sells products that Americans make.
