Crosby has become a liability on the team. After such a good first year, I am really disappointed in his play. Missing long kicks last year wasn't to bad. This year he started missing short kicks and extra points. This last game, he couldn't kick off to save his life.

I don't think he put 1 Kick off into the endzone. They were out about the 10 yard line or shorter. If that is what we wanted we could have keep Longwell and kept the accuracy. Crosby is suppose to have this great leg. Where was it. He could have shut Harvin down, by Kicking it 6 yards deep.

Crosby's two squib kicks were good. The kick after that was supposed to be another squib but he slipped into the kick.

Crosby missed a 51 yarder ... those aren't exactly easy to make.

If you didn't like the depth of our kickoffs try considering the reason why. Maybe he was hitting them HIGHER in hopes of letting our coverage unit get down the field faster to tackle Harvin? Nah ...

I'd have preferred he belted it through the uprights on kickoffs, that's just me though.

Mason Crosby is not a liability. Our OL and penalties are.

My question would be, why are we squib kicking in the middle of the game, or trying to float the ball for coverage? Only explanation that makes sense is that Crosby can't get the ball deep for some reason. Kicking deep enough and you give the 20 as the best field position.

Squib, and float kick and you give up the 30 or better everytime. There is no reason to kick off like that unless there is a problem, which there seems to be. I wasn't just this game either. Last week, they were some short kick offs also.

You're going to ask why squib kick? Serious?
You're going to ask why kick it high to allow coverage to get down? Serious?
You're going to say we should kick it deep? Serious?

Have you NOT paid attention to Percy Harvin this year? The guy is a threat.

Hindsight, I'd rather have seen Crosby try to kick it out of the end zone. Wait I said that in my previous post.

I'd have preferred he belted it through the uprights on kickoffs, that's just me though.

I believe that is what I am saying. If Crosby was able to nail the ball out of the back of the endzone, we wouldn't have to worry about Harvin.

But since he apparently cannot do that anymore, we have to squib and float kicks. We set a precedent with Longwell back when. He was accurate, but couldn't go deep. Now we have someone who is not as accurate as Longwell was and apparently cannot go deep with the ball anymore. So why not look for somebody who has the accuracy, or the distance. We can't afford to be missing both.

Since when has he been missing short kicks this year? Last I checked he is 13/14 from less than 50.

We're not missing both with Crosby. You have your right to bitch, but bitching about Crosby is unwarranted to the degree of replacing him.

Crosby doesn't decide where to kick the ball. His coaches tell him where to kick it.

Crosby missed a 51 yard FG. Wow, no other kicker has done that before. I think he should have made it. That's just way it goes sometimes. You make some, you miss some.

Only two kickers in the NFL have made more FG's than Crosby. Yep, he's our problem.

agreed steve about the short range, and 50+ are always going to be hit or miss w/ whoever you have as a kicker

You kick it 5 yards deep, harvin still may run. You pop it up, it should theoretically let all of our coverage get down there. I'd be stunned if MC wasn't instructed to pop it like that.

Regular season, He missed a ton in preseason. I don't care if it those don't count in his stats. Crosby is not one of the higher percentage kickers, and losing his deep kickoff ability has made him very expendable.
