Here are the 2009 stats for the two running backs. Our boy doesn't do badly considering Peterson is considered by most to be the best running back in the NFL.

Ryan Grant
Cards per carry: 4.4
Fumbles: 1
TDs: 11

Adrian Peterson
Cards per carry: 4.4
Fumbles: 7
TDs: 18

And of those three stats TDs probably have more to do with the rest of the team than YPC or fumbles.

The difference is that opposing teams stack the box against Adrian.

The only reason I don't think AP is the best running back in the league is because he fumbles the ball.

yep, i agree

and if you think ryan grant is as good as or better than AP your disillusioned; nothing against grant.

I think the point here was not to say that Grant is equal to AP.. but to say that Grant is capable of being a productive back for us, until we find someone better.

It has been decades since the Packers had a truly franchise back. But just as Bennett and Levens played their part in the 90's glory days.. Grant can be ours.

And as much as I liked Green.. one would truly have to agree that during his big years we had one of the best offensive lines in the game.. U71 package to boot. He was the closest thing we have had to one though..

Can you explain this? Why would thinking Ryan Grant is as good as AP be a reflection of the person's emotional state?

Exactly.

Personally I'm not even much of a Grant fan, especially 2008.

But considering Grant is lambasted as barely average and AP is regarded as the best in world at his position the stats are closer than I expected.

hmmm I realize this was supposed to be humorous - but I just saw the post as suggesting that the person is disillusioned ie filled with a illusion of what ryan grant can do vs AP. Having an illusion about something doesnt necessarily mean someone is connecting with emotions and that it is based on these. Example - many people believed the earth was flat. Those people at that time were disillusioned to think this - when in reality it was not true.

a differing opinion ya - even thou grant fumbles alot less Id definately like AP on our team instead of grant.

But I do have to say him only having one fumble this season was certainly nice.

-I should be unpacking; but this is much more enjoyable 🙂 -

The frustrating part about Grant aren't the numbers, it's what you see on the field.

While 4.4 is nice(more TDs would have been nice)...

How many times did we see him RUN INTO HIS OWN GUYS?

How many times did we see him MAKE THE WRONG\BAD READ?

How many times did we see him PAD THOSE 'IMPRESSIVE' STATS IN JUNK TIME?

How many times did we see him DISAPPEAR WHEN WE NEEDED HIM?

His numbers are nice but a lot of times with football, the stats don't even come close to tellin the whole story.

I'd rather have someone get a worse average and TDs but actually picked up that needed first down, who fought for extra yardage, and someone who didn't completely suck at pass protection.

But he's averaging 4.4 though, so good for him.

I hope we draft a RB in the 4th\5th who steals his job.
