Someday I will post the regulations for the requirements to obtain German citizenship. I think our country would do well to emulate these requirements.

Two of the most important rules: You MUST be in the country LEGALLY. You must NOT be on welfare or collecting unemployment.

Oh, yes, that's another requirement of German citizenship. You must be proficient in the German language.

Its kind of interesting in britain there are alot of people that are here legally for years 10+ even 25 years that can hardly speak english. I have a hard time figureing that one out.

And I agree with speaking the language. It gets quite annoying when people hve to tell their children to ask you something, the message doesn't get over clear, the kid speaks in broken Dutch etc.

I don't know what you have to do to be a legal Dutch citizen, but the people in centres for asylum seekers(?) stay here for quite a while, as well. Doesn't bother me, but when they just refuse to learn Dutch, it gets slightly annoying.

So many people in this country cant get jobs yet we have 12 - 20 million illegals who are working. Good stuff. I didnt care about it years ago. I knew many illegals, worked with them. Saw how they exploited the system, got rich off of it and then bolted back to their country at the first sign of trouble. The only signs of them still left in this country are unpaid car loans, unpaid medical bills, maxed out credit cards and on and on and on the list goes.

Now theres a new crop looking to exploit the system and do the same. Yet this time, so many Americans are unemployed and struggling to survive. This is not good.

In my opinion, the time has come for citizens of other nations to take responsibility for the crappy conditions in their countries. If their countries are so unbearable that they have to creep illegally into supposed havens like the United States and Europe, they should be banding together to overthrow their governments and set up regimes responsive to their needs and wants. It's been said that a people gets the government it deserves, and I believe that is more or less true. I certainly believe that we Americans, as the (to quote George Carlin) "weak, unimaginative, frightened people" we have become, deserve the intrusive, overbearing government we now have.

Lollz at the illegal immigrant attacks in here. If all of them disappeared overnight, people would be begging for them back. Their insanely cheap labor offsets an unbalanced economic system that would eat itself if the basic services and manufacturing they provide went up drastically in cost once they were no longer available to work for nickles and dimes.
