Huber said “Janis, who coach Mike McCarthy predicted would take a ‘big step’ when asked about him at the Scouting Combine, hasn’t even taken a small step.” Silverstein wrote “Janis has been inconsistent, especially on the balls quarterback Aaron Rodgers likes to throw up to see if his receiver can best a cornerback who has tight coverage.” He made a play on a slant last night during Family Night, but it was more of a great throw from Rodgers, and Janis also had a drop.

Bill Huber is the one making this noise being picked up by various outlets like Rotoworld. Has Bill Huber seen every practice play? Not sure I trust Bill Huber or Silverstein. We shall all see for ourselves in the real fake games coming up here in a few days.

How in the world can you conclude Myles White is getting any spot on this team over Janis? Has Myles gone up and gotten these contested balls? If you really want to cling to the things you read, then you better concluded Montgomery is better than Adams as he's gone up and gotten more than Adams. A media guy said Ty was more impressive than Adams. So, what do you do? I know exactly what you'll do...cling to whatever it is you wanted to be true before you read anything.

We shall see. Pinkard gets open. The guy has dropped balls. He had the near TD that was a difficult catch, but the kind that gets you noticed and just couldn't nab it.

Oh, and Jimmie Hunt is supposedly the UDFA WR darling. Again, we shall see in the games.

It's more about catches and yards and TD's...it's how you look out there. Do you look like you can be a real NFL WR? Tyrone Walker was all the rage a few years ago. Lots of catches...didn't look like an NFL WR...and he went fart in the wind. Only could run 4.59 at a pro day and was lighter than one of Oprah's turds. Myles White is a whittled pencil. He weighs what Walker weighed. He's tiny but he does have some speed that Walker never did.

Man, I can't wait for games so I can see for myself and not have to rely on someone's blog or tweet. Those perceptions are as varied as the opinions you find here.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Why is 6 any less likely?

Abbrederis ain't gonna be IRed for what has happened to him up to now. It's kinda cynical to expect more/worse injuries to happen to the guy, and I doubt they just give up on him. I don't see 4 TEs kept; I doubt Ripkowski stays as a second FB; The young RBs don't seem to be stepping up.

3 QBs, 3 RBs, 1 FB, 3 TEs, 8 OL, 6 DL, 10 LBs, 10 DBs, 1 K, 1 P, 1 H, and 6 Wide Receivers - that adds up to 53, and I could see 1 less than that at several spots.

Nelson, Cobb, Montgomery, Adams, Janis, and Abbrederis. That and a couple of the young guys on the practice squad if we are lucky.

At first I was annoyed by this Adams vs Janis rivalry thats going on between you two. To be honest, I'm starting to enjoy it. This isn't meant to be disrespectful, but it brings some humor to the site watching the jabs back and forth.

Again there's nothing wrong with it as long as you guys don't end up rooting for one receiver to fail. Our team would be in fantastic shape if both of your guys end up as good as you believe them to be.

It's honestly going to come down to special teams and performance in the preseason games. Cobb, Nelson, Adams, and Montgomergy (cause he's a third round pick) are roster locks. White has been making most of the opportunities in camp with the fellow bubble receivers on the shelf. I think Abs sticks around, but on the practice squad. Unless he comes back from his concussion and tears the preseason a new one.
