So, I paid $15 for my three credit reports in good detail with my score. 563 is a bad score, but expected.

I've long been trying to remove items on my report that are not my responsibility. Good news is, it's down to one item, FINALLY.

$974.00 for Bayfield Financial LLC, who?? What?

I called them up and they have two cases for 'Kevin Dugan', I said great that's not me, fix it. They took my last four of my social and say 'we cant discuss this further as its not related to you'.

She was helpful and polite, not rude. She advised me to call Transunion (the only bureau that has it listed on mine) and tell them to investigate it and fix it.

The thing that gets me, my report claims I'm 48k in debt! That's a crock. I only owe just around 30k for my student loans and that's all I have on my report.

ARGHHH!!!

How can Experian, Equifax and TransUnion give different score's for your credit?

Experian and Equifax are almost identical, but TransUnion is way different. I wonder if they check the status more often or less?

It is my understanding that they weigh the info differently. Open accounts, revolving credit accounts, home loans, available credit and so on.

If they did it all the same there is no need for three of them. Their scoring systems are proprietary so lenders tend to use all three.

I went to free credit score . com and got the info but not my score. I saw that Transunion had stuff that the others didn't have.

My daughter got a parking ticket about 5 years ago and didn't pay it so it went to collection. I called her when the collection notice came to me and I scolded her. (The car is in my name.) That shows up on Transunion but not on the others. It ticked me off again when I saw it. 😳 I am sure that is why I don't have an 800. :facepalm:

request the credit report companies to verfy your items. that will probably get rid of anything wrong.

I don't have any idea what ours is.....all i know is, it's bad.

The only score that matters is FICO. You can obtain that score for free from myFICO.com. Just sign up for their 30 day free trial and cancel before the 30 days. Also, you can get a free detailed credit report from each of the 3 bureaus once per year from annualcreditreport.com (federal law).

Also, I just found out recently that if you file a fraud alert with the credit bureaus (I lost my wallet and I wanted to protect myself in case someone else found it before I did) that they will provide you with a detailed credit report.

That's what I did with TransUnion, I explained this is a battle I've been attacking since '04 and I was done picking this and that one and I wanted them all re-checked. There's 22 items listed on mine. I only know for sure that one of them is not mine, but if they drop a few others, I won't complain.

Anyone ever used this site? It's supposed to give you your score, for free.

I have not. I thought it was "free" if you signed up for the monthly program. But it has been a year or so since I looked at it. And maybe that was some other site.
