I will say this about Arod.

He played better than I and most thought he would starting for the first time having to come in after that circus before the season adding to the pressure.

He makes all the throws, can get the ball deep accurately, moves around and gets away from pressure, and, improved in areas as the season progressed like getting the ball out quicker.

I did not see signs that would concern me Arod cannot improve in most areas. We can go over all the things he could do better till the cows come home but IMO what is important is I see no reason he can't feed off of last years experience and be even better which is a fairly high water mark as 93 pointed out. Not many have done what he has in their first year.

At the end of the day he is by far and away the best QB in our division and I really don't give a crap what he does with the ball or whether he should throw it away or eat it. All that chit chat just tells me the off season is just too dang long.

Every QB out there has throws they wish they had back. We happen to have one that has fewer of those than most and will probably even cut back on those this year having one season behind him to learn from.

If you remember, it was McCarthy's plan to get the other phases of the team to step up and be better so he would not be called on as a first year starter to put them on his back.

Considering NONE of that happend and he actually DID have to be the guy I thought he performed extremely well.

Rodgers is certainly a top 15 QB right now so yeah that would be something I agree with.

He's the best in the division for sure. It's not even close, but overall he's got along ways to go before he's on the level of guys like Ben and Tom Brady. Statements like that are what gives people like DH merit when he says Rodgers is overrated.

I like Matt Ryan as the best young and up and coming QB in the game today. After him, Phillip Rivers is due for a big run once Norv Turner checks out and then I like Rodgers slightly more than Jay Cutler now due to Cutler's clear immaturity issues. That's long-term, but in the big picture, Rodgers is still a work in progress as are the other three I named.

I always wonder how you rank these guys. A top 15 QB would mean that you think Eli is a better QB at this point? And why do you rank Matt Ryan higher than Rodgers? The receiving corps is going slightly towards Rodgers' side (Although Roddy White is pretty amazing), but they had one of the best running games and a pretty darn good O-line.

Brady, P. Manning, Rivers, Brees etc. I can agree upon that they're better. I could come up with some more, but I don't think I'd get to around 15 players.

Not attacking you, just wondering.

An example of what I see for Matt Ryan is in 94 I probably would've looked like an idiot for saying Brett Favre is going to be better than Steve Young going forward, but in 98, I probably would've looked like a genius for saying that.

I look at Matt Ryan and I think he's that good. I'm sort of projecting him as a future player in comparison to Rodgers because that's all we really have to go off of right now. They've only played one year.

My rankings are basically this....

1. Tom Brady
2. Peyton Manning
3. Ben Roethlisberger
4. Drew Brees
5. Carson Palmer
6. Phillip Rivers
7. Donovan McNabb
8. Kurt Warner
9. Tony Romo
10. Eli Manning
11. Matt Ryan
12. Aaron Rodgers
13. Jay Cutler
14. Matt Cassel
15. Matt Hasselbeck

That's if I had to play a game today. Obviously though if I were building a franchise for the future then I would want Matt Ryan or Tom Brady whom I think has five good years left at least baring injury.

The most important thing for Rodgers right now is a good O line. It will keep him healthy, give us a runnign game and we already have good receivers. Rodgers will continue to improve.

Aah, ok. Well I have to admit that they'd be close picks aswell in my ranking.

The one I am always amazed at is Eli Manning. He might just be the most overrated player in the entire football league. Or maybe even in sports, really.

Big Ben is a little high for my liking aswell. I'll just post my list from this moment aswell.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Kurt Warner
4. Drew Brees
5. Phillip Rivers
6. Donovan McNabb
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Carson Palmer
9. Tony Romo
10. Jay Cutler
11. Aaron Rodgers
12. Matt Ryan
13. Matt Hasselback
14. Shaun Hill
15. Eli Manning I guess.

I never stated that the instructions to take a sack were intended to be a general rule. I was referring to situations in which nothing is developing down field and the pocket is collapsing fast -- the sack is imminent. Rodgers' predecessor would frequently try to make something out of nothing, wing it into double and triple coverage. When he succeeded, he was credited with threading the needle; when he was intercepted, it was laughed off as him just being a gunslinger. While he made a lot of remarkable plays (sometimes I felt like it was pure luck), the fact remains a lot of those plays did result in turnovers.

Of course football is a game of inches, but if I have to choose between giving up 8 or 10 yards in a sack and giving up the rock in an interception, I'm going to choose the yardage every time.

You can throw out stats guy but there is only one stat that matters. So when it angers you he is being called Mr. 6-10 and then talking about how great his rating is you look somewhat hypocritical.

He is Mr. 6-10

If he doesn't like it he should become Mr. 16-0.

Shut me up Aaron and make me "get on board".

Yup........AR deserves ALL the blame for the 10 losses. Our lack of a defense that could not stop the opponent, our "special" teams that gave up huge plays everytime our offense made a big drive, play calling that was so obvious even I knew what was coming............that had NOTHING to do with the losses. Yup........put the blame on ol' #12........ONLY because he isn't Ol' #4.
Fact is..........AR lead us to just as many Super Bowl wins as #4 did in the last 10 years.
Putting the blame on ONE player, one that in fact threw 28TD's to 13 INT's and for over 4000 yards, is........well, for lack of a better word, stupid.
If Aaron Rodgers had sucked, i'd be all over him. But unlike some, i can look at a situation and judge it by the facts. Aaron Rodgers did all he could. It was the rest of the team that stunk it up. Defense, special teams, no running game from Ryan Grant. And conservative play calling every time we got CLOSE to scoring.

Aaron Rodgers - Won 6 NFL football games all by himself because the rest of the team is Irrelevant. That's not so bad, since he is doing it by himself apparently.
